Osmo Country Colour is a microporous, opaque, satin wood finish for exterior timber with excellent UV properties and durability. The deep rich colours will hide the grain and colour of the wood but will allow for the wood's natural feel and texture to remain apparent. Country Colour is based on natural vegetable oils with no active ingredients making Osmo Country Color an eco friendly product that is microporous so allowing the wood to breathe. It will not crack, flake, peel or blister. Osmo Country Colour is ideal for outdoor furniture and buildings where its high coverage, long life and easy maintenance make it an extremely effective product. We strongly advise always doing a test area before the main application as different woods can affect the final appearance and it is impossible to accurately tell the colour from a screen or printed page.
Recommended Use:
Osmo Country Colour is best suited for any exterior wood where an especially durable coating is required such as timber cladding, balconies, windows and window shutters, fences, pergolas, wooden shingles, garden furniture and summer houses, carports etc. It is also Ideal for recoating old microporous finishes and weathered wooden surfaces but always carry out a test area first.
Product Description:
Osmo Country Colour is opaque, with an initial satin-gloss then reducing to a satin finish, it is based on natural oils for exterior wood. The microporous surface allows the wood to breathe and reduces swelling and shrinkage. Country Colour is water repellent, extremely weather-resistant and UV-stable, the surface does not crack, peel, flake or blister. No sanding is necessary when re-coating, just simply clean the surface and recoat; no primer is needed. Easy and simple to apply the finish stays workable while applying. When dry Osmo Country Colour is safe for humans, animals and plants and is suitable for children's toys as per EN 71.3 (European norm) and is saliva-resistant and sweatproof according to DIN 53160 (German industrial norm). The wood colour and grain is covered but the structure of the wood remains visible.
Method of Application:
Apply thinly and evenly to the clean and dry wood along the wood grain with an appropriate brush or Osmo Microfibre Roller and spread well. Allow to dry for approximately 10 -12 hours with good ventilation. After drying, apply a second coat – also thinly. When renovating, one coat applied to the clean and dry surface is usually sufficient.
Coverage:
1 litre covers approx. 26 m² with one coat, but please note that product coverage depends significantly on the character of the wood. All information refers to smooth and planed/cut surfaces. Other surfaces may lead to reduced coverage.
Please note:
If exterior surfaces (e.g. windows, cladding) need to have extra protection, apply one final top coat of Osmo UV-Protection-Oil Extra Clear (410 without biocide or 420 with biocide) after thoroughly drying. This protects against dirt and stains and extends the life of the finish. For Country Colour White 2101, please use Natural Oil Woodstain White 900 or UV Protection oil 429.
Osmo Country Colour has been tried and trusted over decades and is also available in custom colours. Starting from 2.5 litres per colour tone, available in 213 RAL Classic and 1950 NCS colour tones, as well as with biocidal film protection additives if required. If you are ordering a bespoke colour please include the colour required in the delivery information box when placing your order. Many wood species contain water-soluble coloured extractives which may leach out naturally when weathered.

Ordering Bespoke Colours:
Osmo Country Colour is also available mixed to most of the Classic RAL colours and NCS colours, however as they are mixed to order there can be a delay of 3-5 days but please call us on 01235 427000 for further information. If ordering more than one bespoke colour, a separate order will be required for each colour.
A RAL Classic colour chart to help with choosing colours is available for purchase but can as long as it is in good condition be returned within 30 days for a refund, less the cost of postage.
Other colours and RAL Design colours are also available but there will be an additional £12 mixing
