If we understood correctly, the pillow had a damp smell when you opened it - while we understand this is unpleasant, the smell is to be expected with new memory foam items and dissipates within a week, at most. In rare cases when this doesn’t happen, customers can reach out to us and we’re happy to offer a replacement (or a return for a full refund within the 30-night trial) to address the issue.
We do advise that washing memory foam or submerging it in water will cause permanent damage to the pillow. This is mentioned on the product page, while the packaging also directs customers to our Care Page, which states the same and gives instructions on cleaning both the pillow cover and the memory foam. We would have been happy to work out a solution for you, however, as the item now has been thrown away there isn’t much we can do in this situation.
