“Owning an original wave which has seen a tough life but been looked after well it has become something of an old friend. I decided to replace it and went for the black oxide with engraving so it was easier to spot and less easy to be borrowed and not retuned. Not a big fan of the Molle sheath but that is a personal preference and in no way detracts from the wave or the service from Multi tool store. I do have other models of Leatherman but the wave is simply the best all round tool there is to have on your belt. Black oxide - why not ?just give it a clean when you first get it. do I expect it to deteriorate over time .. yes just as the stainless picks up scratches, but this just shows it is a well used and well made tool that lasts a lifetime.”
