“Since purchasing this multi-tool before Christmas, it's not left my side. I use it all the time at work (maintenance officer at a care home). The main cutting blade is shaving sharp and extra care needs to be taken folding it away, as it will take the top of your thumb off. I know this from experience. Screwdriver bits are surprisingly effective and are workable when you're not carrying a proper tool kit, as are the pliers and wire cutters. The wire stripper takes practice to perfect, but works well once you've got the knack. The only negative, and it's a personal one, is the wood saw. I'm sure it's no worse than any other wood saw of it's type but why bother? They're all too short to be useful for cutting anything thicker than a pencil.
The nylon pouch is well made and the closure has a nice positive feel to it without it being a struggle to open with one hand.
Leatherman aren't the cheapest on the market but you do get a well crafted tool that is a pleasure to use and sits in the hand comfortably. It's constructed of decent materials and has a fantastic guarantee. After using lesser muti-tools, I'm very happy with the quality. If I lost it tomorrow, I would defo' replace with another wave+, despite the expense.”
