Superb to put it shortly. The craftsmanship is remarkable. I have several fine watches, but none over $1,000 usd. This watch is more appealing than all others I have simply because of the crystal rather than the high quality glass on my other time pieces. There is less glare and deeper colors compared to all my other watches just because of the crystal used. The design of the face of the watch is taken out of a P-51 US fighter plane which was used in many wars but most memorably during WW2. The great part of the design used is that this watch is easier to read at a glance, than any other watch I own and this makes good sense because the face was designed for a fighter plane pilot who had no time to sit there looking at the face of the clock and count dot by dot to figure out the time. I will say some of my other watches have a tachymeter which makes the face more busy and thus a bit more challenging to tell time fast. The leather used is superb. Working the straps is very simple and very smooth. The leather was in perfect shape when I received it. When I go outside for 2-3 minutes and come back indoors, some of the features on the watch illuminate like there was LEDs turned on all of a sudden and that was to my pleasant surprise. This effect lasts a few minutes and it makes reading the watch easy. I went ahead and purchased the Leatherman Tread and 20mm chronolinks so I could make the watch what it was intended from the beginning. The Leatherman QM1 was an absolute day wrecker the day I saw it first. I had to have it. I saved money for about 3 years waiting for the right time and I am finally lucky enough to have the closest thing to a QM1 that I will ever have. There was 1,000 of these watches made and distributed throughout the world. And there was 1,000 of the black leather versions also distributed out for sale. The multi-tool store has these limited editions which is the way I decided to go because I couldn't get my hands on the original. The Leatherman Tread if you decide to use it, is not adjustable, so basically it either fits you or, you will have some slack. This was made for me, because it fits me perfect with the Chronolinks adapters. I will say that I am not happy with the Chronolinks adapters. They didn't screw in correctly because the hole they bored and tapped didn't match the screws on the Tread. So the threads are the correct size, but the tap was too big so the screws can slide all the way down and all the way out without really threading. I used a lot of teflon tape and it seems to work really well now, but I still can't screw the screws down tight, because they bottom out and keep spinning. I'm a mechanic, no I did not over tighten the screws, all 4 holes and screws were the same problem. I wasn't able to screw any of them down. I believe the problem is with Chronolinks. The second problem I have is that I took this websites' word for the size of the Chronolinks I needed. I bought 20mm and it could probably use the 22mm size. So again, it isn't a perfect fit, both sides, the adapters are lose. I have gotten compliments from everyone that knows me and has seen the watch. I'm a huge Leatherman guy. I carry my Leatherman Wave and Lenser everyday, strapped to my belt. I am the guy that saves the day every week at work and at home. I thought I would carry this watch everywhere and use it, but after paying this much for a watch, and seeing how great the quality of this watch is, the last thing I want to do is abuse it. So, I show everyone what it can do, but I don't do it with the watch. I use and abuse my Wave. My watch is #48 of 100. On as scale of 1-10, I'm very happy with this purchase and it's a 10.
