No instructions on what to build. Wood was too hard to knock the nails into, even I struggled and 5 year old found it impossible. Balsa wood would have been easier to nail. I would suggest drilling small pilot holes to allow nails to be knocked in easier.

Since your review we have re-tested this product, hammering nails into the wood using the "hand" to hold the nails, attaching a "wheel" (circle) to another wooden block component. The First Woodwork Set has the safety testing/age recommendation of 5+ printed on the box but it is likely to be more suited to a child slightly older than this. Certainly we had no trouble hammering nails. The set is intended to allow children to come up with their own ideas for things to make. Because of this of course it means components cannot have pre-drilled holes. However, to help if your child is struggling for inspiration, we've added a picture showing some suggest project ideas.

The kit was for 5+ our grandson is 12 and found it hard to do. There were no instructions and the wheels split when you tried to nail them. Very poor product.
