Had a small claim whilst abroad of around £250. Filled in the numerous forms but they have kept asking for more and more. Four months later I’m left with having to contact the car hire company in Spain myself to request numerous receipts. Wow this company is probably the worse I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They make you jump through one hoop after another, just when you think the agony is over they request something else. Great tactic:-) I gave one star as no stars isn’t an option.

We arranged car excess insurance but had to make a claim as our hire car was scratched by someone when it was parked up. the claim was fully paid but it did took several weeks to process and any enquires had a slow reply - so the policy was a good buy with a good outcome when we claimed - but be prepared to have claims slowly processed

Read about excess insurance and a quick provider comparison led me to Leisureguard. Never used them before. Only bought cover as I was looking to hire a cheap car on the Costa del Sol. In the end I hired from Sixt so didn’t expect to have any issues, but they found scratches on the car at the end of the hire that I know I didn’t do. Fortunately I had excess cover. I sent the paperwork and photos Sixt had sent me by email and the claim was handled and paid out painlessly. I was very impressed. In total, about three emails and the bill was paid. I’d recommend them to everyone.

Thank you for your review, The car hire excess reimbursement policies available via MoneyMaxim do not have anything to do with the car hire companies, so it is not a matter of whether or not they recognise these policies, as they simply reimburse you for the costs you incur, that are then covered by the policy. Very pleased with purchase. Saved a significant amount compared to purchasing at airport desk with Hire Company. Happily didn't need to use it.
