I think the insurance I bought was 'good', but I am not sure about this because I don't know whether it would have covered me for all costs involved if I had made a claim. I expected to have to make a claim because my hire vehicle was hit by a car and I was told by the hire company that I would have to pay in full. So I contacted Insurefor and was told to submit the claim when I was actually charged, but no charge was made in the four months following the accident. I'm not sure why, though it may have been because the accident was not my fault and I had full details of the other driver's insurance plus a report from the Chief Officer of the ferry where the accident took place confirming it was not my fault. I have not therefore needed to make a claim but I remain unsure whether I would have been covered for all costs if I had.

Very easy to arrange, and cost-effective, peace of mind! I did need to claim for a damaged tyre. The claim was easy to make and was paid in full very quickly. My only quibble was that after notifying me of the payment of my claim, it took longer than promised for the money to be deposited in my account - but shortly after a chasing e-mail, it was. I will be happy to use Insurefor Car Hire Excess Insurance again in future.

This was reasonably priced and certainly much cheaper than the rental company's offering. I did not have to make a claim.

Superb! I was unfortunate to have my hire car hit - the damage came close to £1000. While there was a lot of paperwork required for the claim, this was provided by the car hire firm - while that took some time to go through when I finally submitted the claim it was paid within 3 weeks without quibble. Highly recommend.

Purchased excess car hire insurance as per Martin Money Savers advice to save on car hire company excess charges. However, when presented insurance docket at car hire they did not accept and I had to purchase additional cover with car hire provider. Tried to gain a refund from Money Maximiser however this was refused.

It really is a shame to hear when something has been said to customer at a Car Hire Desk about there Car Hire Excess Insurance Policy, which isn't correct or true . My purchase and all administration were completely satisfactory. Fortunately, I didn’t have to make a claim, so can offer no meaningful comment on the claims service.
