“Very happy with this policy. I had to make a claim after hiring a car in Spain in May when the car hire company found some scratches under the car when I returned it. I had not done this damage. My claim was dealt with very efficiently and I was reimbursed the money the car hire company had charged me. It was also a lot cheaper than buying the excess policy the car hire companies want you to purchase from them.”

“The car hire company would not let us use this policy They said we had to use there or we couldn't hire the car So we never got chance to use this And had to go else where for another car”

Alan, Thank you for your review, This is frustrating to see - These policies do not have anything to do with the rental firms, and it is not a matter of whether or not they let you use the policy, as they work on a reimbursement basis for the areas covered. Regarding having to take their extra insurance, unless it clearly states that in addition to the basic cover included in your rental (which assuming it was included) that you must take the excess reduction/waiver package they offer, then that should not be the case. “I have given a five star as I haven't had to use it! Compared to what the hire companies want I have saved probably thousands of pounds over all the years I have hired a car abroad.”

“Unfortunately, I had to make a claim from CoverForYou for charges made for scratches on the bumpers of my hire car. The process was very slow, CoverForYou/Allianz Golbal requiring a copy of my credit card statement specifying the payment, which didn't arrive until 2 months after our holiday. CoverForYou then took another month before finally transferring a payment to me. CoverForYou didn't pay the full amount, refusing to pay the Airport tax (referred to as Airport Surcharge) charged at 18% on the payment to the car hire company.”
