“Would not hire a car abroad without taking out this must have insurance - it cost me £14 for the week - worth every penny for the peace of mind - If you take out insurance from the hire company it will cost over £100 for the week and still doesn’t give you as high a level of cover as BETTERSAFE. IF you don’t take out the BETTERSAFE policy and even the slightest thing happens to your hire car you really will have to pay out!!!!”

“Cheap. Took a long long time to get a pay out but I did get it. Lots of hoops to jump through. Pay a bit extra and get a decent service.”

We are sorry to hear you had slight trouble with the claims procedure and it took a while to pay out - the key thing when submitting a claim is to ensure all required information/documents are provided in the first application. “I have just used a Bettersafe policy for the second time this year. It did the job well. I hired my car through an agency with Interent which seems to be the same company as Goldcar. I picked up my car at their office near the Euro train station which is about 15mins walk from the Airport and on the line into Bari (the train service is rather infrequent and 350% more from the airport station). I was subject to high pressure sales technique intended to make me believe that my independent insurance didn't cover me for a liability of 2500 Euros additional to the CDW of 1100 Euros. Fortunately I had printed the full terms and was able to satisfy myself that they were trying to con to Pay additional insurance of 910 Euros which I declined but it was difficult and stressful as my concentration was disturbed by constant interruptions by staff and other customers waiting. Just to set my mind at rest I 'phoned Bettersafe the next day and was assured that I had correctly interpreted the policy terms. They were very helpful and much easier to get through to than most customer services desks.”
