The Áine Cajon SOLD OUT Cajon playing is the next new percussion sensation, it’s a sleeper trend that has been quietly but steadily growing yet is still at a relatively early stage on the Irish music scene. Cajon is the Spanish for crate or drawers and cajon-playing originated in Peru in the 18th century when shipping crates were used by slaves for music-making and communication. Its musical origins are Afro Peruvian, then flamenco and latterly jazz music and it was around this time that they started to add guitar strings and drum snares to create the snare tones. A good cajon is hard to find so we’re very lucky to welcome the Áine Cajon to our online store. Áine has been beautifully hand-crafted with skill and precision by musician Paul Higgins at Cúil Beats in Co. Laois using ebony and is the perfect beginner instrument. We recommend our TradPro Cajon Gig Bag for traveling between gigs and street sessions! Key Features of the Áine Cajon
