I just got this whistle a couple of weeks ago and I love it. It took a bit of getting used to, as I’m so used to my Tony Dixon DX006. The Killarney whistle requires a lighter, more delicate touch with the breath than the Dixon whistle. Once I figured that out, I started really getting a good tone out of it. It’s got such a sweet, pure tone. It’s definitely a high quality whistle.

Beautiful full tone. Love this whistle! Excellent comfortable mouthpiece, so much more gentle than my previous wooden block version. Sweet tone and Fun to play. Thank you!

I was frustrated trying to play my $7.00 whistle in tune. The brass whistle has made me want to practice more.

Before ordering this whistle that was recommended by a family member, I had ordered the Tony dixon low d flute. Unfortunately the stretch was too much for me so I sent it back, during which I received amazing service! I then ordered this whistle which I now have and love it! Really enjoying learning this instrument, it has a lovely tone and I'm sure I will get it sounding even better with enough practice.

Saw an Internet review of this whistle and decided to buy one. Checked on the Internet and decided to get it from McNeela Instruments. It took about 5 days to arrive. Excellent service from McNeela. The whistle is a joy. It is hand made in Killarney which is one of my favourite spots in Ireland. Comes with a very nice case. Very pleased indeed. Saving up for a Killarney eb now. 10 out of 10 for the whistle and service.

Very pleased. Very fine quality D whistle. The second octive is easy to reach. The only negative for me is that the smooth brass tube tends to allow the whistle to move around. There is no place for the thumbs to get a grip. However, a couple of weeks of practice helped me find ways to compensate.
