“Although I was very impressed by my first Marloe watch, the Coniston Auto K4 (now my 'dress' watch), I missed having a date display and also wanted a rotating bezel to use as a basic countdown timer. I did consider other watchmakers, as I did not feel I needed GMT functionality. However, after a lot of searching, I decided that the GMT Night was simply the best design, and the 24 hour GMT hand unobtrusive – unlike other new GMTs. (My close second choice would have been the Fortis Fleiger F-41.)
When my GMT Night arrived, I was delighted to see that it looks even better in real life than in the high quality photographs on the website. Both the design and construction is faultless. I chose the Italian Nappa Cognac Leather strap, which is just orange enough to complement the long, bright orange second hand.
Last week I made use of the local time zone for the first time, setting it one hour forward for France, which took about three seconds. The very first setting of the watch's date can take a little time but, after that, I actually prefer adjusting the time and date on the GMT to other mechanical watches.
Overall, for an everyday use, I believe this is one of the best watches available in the world.”
