This is a great looking watch. The more you look the more detail appears. I think it is great to have some great, British, design on my wrist.

A rugged but very wearable watch. I love how it looks and feels on the wrist. The attention to detail is impressive. From the watch itself to the packaging and customer service. This is my first Marloe purchase but it likely won't be my last.

The first time I heard about the Sceptre it was just in the development stages. A watch built for the water, 200 atmospheres but not a divers watch, yet themed on submarines? An automatic movement with display back. A beefy but not bulky 42mm case. And to top it off a rifled bezel based on a nuclear turbine! Wow! My inner 9yr old was sold! I very nearly chose the Commander until I saw the Black Edition was announced. I'm so pleased I waited. Huge thank you to Oliver for being so patient with my indecisiveness! Unboxing this beast was an absolute delight, the box itself, the collectors card, the beautiful book detailing the Sceptre's beginnings and finally the watch itself. Worth taking the time to enjoy the experience (with a wee dram). I was nervous about the Black edition because I don't really like black watch faces but I trusted the website descriptions that said the crystal gives the black face a deep blue appearance in certain lights. This is truly the case. Directly head on the face looks matt black but the other 99% of the time, with the slightest tilt or angle a brilliant flash of rich, vibrant crystal blue runs accross the face. Strangely enough I didnt even notice until looking at the watch for a while that there are no numbers. The super clean, easy to read face and clear hour markers need no numbers at all. The movement has a reassuring "whirring" sound when the watch is moved or rotated, letting you know it is ticking itself along nicely. As for the display back, I'd almost be tempted to wear the watch upside-down to view this all the time if I could. It's fascinating! Truly a beating heart. As for the rifled, turbine bezel (which looks incredible with contrasting polished and matt finish) this is definitely my faviurite element and a pleasure to operate. So much so that a friend of mine (who had just bought a watch four times the price) was trying it and instantly said "wow, that bezel has such a solid feel, an no play at all, I wish mine was like that". The quality, feel, presentation and attention to detail with the Sceptre, as with all Marloe watches, is beyond comparison and to say "value for money" would be an understatement. I chose the brown ribbed leather strap, I was unsure if this would work with the Sceptre but having seen it on the Atlantic I wanted to give it a go. I'm so pleased I did, especially now that it was started to wear in, it looks superb. I also have a silicone strap and swapping them out is no issue whatsoever. Finally, Oliver kindly set aside a serial number to match my Haskell. For this I am very thankful. Two very special watches with matching serial numbers, both very special in their own way. After all my hesitations I'm thrilled with my choice and I see it as a great investment. Something I will proudly pass on to my sons one day. Something satisfyingly great about Marloe watches is that you are unlikely to spot someone else wearing one. And if you do, I imagine the nod of satisfaction would be a special moment. It feels unique and understated, particularly knowing the story and loving depth of research behind each one, something I'm truly proud to wear. My only advice to anyone thinking of buying a Marloe is to do as I did, take the time to choose carefully, communicate with the Marloe team and trust in the descriptions on the website. The patience in making the right descision is truly "Time Well Spent". James

Another well designed quality watch from Marloe. The size suits my wrist. The black simple uncomplicated faces sits well in the Matt steel bezel. The leather strap is thick and contrasts with the watch well. I am very happy with the choice. The exhibition back glass is enhanced with the inner black message ring. Another great value package.

The watch itself is really nice ! The workmanship and attention to detail is pretty good. Got it on time as well and it looks sick in the black color !! It has become my daily driver now ! The only star deduction is for the band. The silicon band feels a bit cheap. That is the only negative in my opinion. Other than that, it is all good !!

I ordered the Black Edition after I'd received the October version. Really nice watch that wears comfortably on the wrist and is extremely legible with just a glance. Excellent work once again. Thank you.
