Disappointed. I thought automatic meant battery driven not hand shake and wind. Wanted to leave it stationary on the desk but its back in the box now.

I was looking for a nice watch to celebrate my retirement, like the gold watch you used to get. I found a Marloe that had a periscope graticule on the dial and it was a limited release due 1st Nov, with individual serial number. So I asked if I could secure 0257 which was my employee number and explained I worked on periscopes for 30 years. He said yes then went on to say he played golf last week and there was a periscope there so they could check if tee one was clear. Ah yes the Periscope is from HMAS Excaliber. Experimental submarine from 1955. The Periscope was salvaged and sold to the Elie golf club in 1966. It was made by Barr and Stroud in Glasgow. The ones I worked on were also designed by them for the Australian Collins Class and is now supported by BAE Systems. B&S are now Thales Optronics and are in a new factory on the Clyde at Govan near where I was born. They have a Periscope in their Foyer. So I bought the watch.
