“As a watch enthusiast, after initial unboxing (great packaging & ‘case candy’), I whip out my loupe and inspection reveals top quality (flawless) and attention to design detail.
Wind and run checking sessions in the 3 positions for the special (elabore) grade movement confirm it’s to specification (expected) and on wrist timekeeping for me (desktop worker) is +7 seconds a day which is exactly on the tight end of Sellita’s stated accuracy for this grade of their movement.
It’s got vintage and modern styling cues and the box sapphire almost gives it’s edges a plexiglass crystal viewing feel, looking at this edge giving interest as it combines visually pleasing distortions with the rehaut and minute track, whilst at the same time the polished surface of the case top giving reflections seamlessly melding into this impression.
To me the styling is different enough from mainstream horological trends for me to be left wondering how I would sum it up? in the end I just ended up thinking that it “demands attention through understatement”.
I searched to team up the old & new style aspects of this watch with a suitable band, and settled on a hybrid leather & rubber in dark brown (similar in hue to ‘burnished hickory brown leather’ of Marloe straps) as the colour subtlety complements the red hairline sub-seconds hand, and the hybrid nature also is a vintage/ modern nod in stylings, a brushed steel buckle echoes the Pacific’s brushed edge case finishing, as does the side of the curve on the buckle just happening to have a similar ‘wing’ curve to the case side to mirror that design aspect also.
Can you tell I’m impressed : )”
“Beautiful looking watch.
Well proportioned.
Keeps good time.
British design, Swiss movement.
A word about the packaging/presentation, just one; Outstanding.”
“An elegant and stylish timepiece, combining classic looks with a modern colourway. I've paired it with the Miele Rally strap and love the way it looks. Also, a refreshing change to have a watch with a manually wound movement. Excellent advice and service from Oliver and Nicola at MWC. Highly recommended.”
“I’ve been on the fence for the Pacific for ages struggling with which one to buy and also if it was worth the extra over the rest of the range even though the model itself is Swiss made.
Settled in the end on the Pacific 76 mainly because I do like a blue watch and also the link and nod to Concorde, with the watch using the colour ways of blue, red and if you look closely, a white chapter ring.
Upon opening the box, you are met with a watch that the light simply dances off of. I’ve yet to won a watch that shines as much on the wrist as this one does. Plus the lume on it is very good indeed.
The case has a gorgeous finish to it and the build quality is superb. Honestly, it’s mesmerising on the wrist. The light really does play with it to really show it off!”
