“This watch is a looker and seems to keep time well. I thought the strap it came with was too red, but that's obviously just personal taste and not a fault in the watch. One thing I did notice was that when winding the crown it would kind of 'wind back' a little when I let go. Not sure if this is expected behaviour,
Overall very happy with this watch.”
“One lovely watch, a great design, that also applies to the other watches I have purchased, the Derwent Sundial, the Haskell Black and the Haskell Polar all beautiful design's. Carry on the good.”
“The Coniston -Bluebird was a present for my son and he loves it. It is beautifully designed and is an extremely attractive watch. The packaging was also impressive.”
“Love my new watch. To get a mechanical movement at this quality, with the added bonus of a display case back where you can see the workings of the movement... just awesome! Very happy with the watch, but equally happy with the fantastic service provided by Oliver, Gordon and Stephanie! Buying a watch from these guys is a much more intimate buying experience than with most companies, as you really buy into the people and brand, as well as the product!”
“Pre-ordered a Coniston Bluebird watch - it arrived promptly on the aforementioned date. Presentation was suberb including a book about the company, and the story behind the watch itself - the history of the high speed runs by Donald Campbell. The watch is awesome, I love the design and details. A great product and a great buying experience overall. I've subsequently invested in Marloe Watch Company and am excited to see what the future holds for the company.”
“When I decided to purchase my first mechanical watch as an adult, I started to research various elements such as movements and case materials to help me to have an idea as to what would appeal to me and what things meant prior to locating both a brand and design that fitted the bill. Like many others, it was easy to get drawn into the world of the obvious premium brands. However, part of my journey led to me reading about Marloe Watches and the fascinating story around their company and their designs. Key things that stood out to me were the quality of each and every design, the background story to each watch and the consistency around their service and quality. I found reading the journals on the website to be both compelling and addictive in a good way, which really makes you feel part of their special community of enthusiasts who appreciate the attention to detail in their designs and service.
Choosing a Coniston was quite easy for me, the Bluebird colour looked great and the added bonus of forming the background to the naming of the watch. It also reminded me of the Bluebird car which I had seen locally when I was a boy with my dad and he appreciated mechanical things and quality. I am sure he would be impressed with both the watch and the model I now use daily.
My contact with Gordon, Oliver and Steph was all to the same standard as their website, designs and watches and collecting the watch in person and meeting Oliver was a special highlight for me and hopefully next time I will meet Gordon. I would highly recommend watching the 4 part documentary Road to Coniston provides such valuable and interesting insight into the lengths and efforts used to create such a fantastic watch.
Marloe Watch Company have designed, delivered and been able to blend the best of the traditional with the best of the modern era. Individual designs, with truly compelling back story to the company, the designs and have been an absolute pleasure to deal with my purchase of Coniston Bluebird. Thank you and keep it up Marloe team.”
