“Onto the fork. Erm, I’m afraid I’m not impressed. The fork itself looks cheap, very cheap, not a quality item I’m afraid. The actual fork looks like very very basic. I once renovated a 1953 Stuart Purves bike and the fork was a lightweight work of steel beauty, even to an experienced bike mechanic like myself, I was impressed, but the Mango one sadly doesn’t do so well. Even more disappointing was the chrome (Arcol) that was a £45 option on the fork. I really wish I’d just had it painted the same cream as the frame. I have had chrome forks in the past which had the most glorious mirror-image shine to them. This one looks like a cheap steel fork wrapped in kitchen foil. Sorry Mango. A really nice option would be a full carbon, raked fork in colour matched paint. It would also drop 500g + off the front end, improving handling.”
