“Middleman outfit. In my case the lead time estimation was very poor. They were good at responding to most types of communication but as the process went along I became increasingly concerned about the quality of the advice. If doing this again I would just deal directly with the suppliers. Some specific gripes: 1) I ordered the composite bearers and was really disappointed with them. Having a 38mmx38mm section, they are smaller than what is specified on the website and drawings. I ordered 68mm logs so having them sat on a 38mm section just doesn't seem right and looks unstable. In addition the instructions provided by the supplier explicitly states that the cabin should be at least 45mm off the ground, and, 38mm does not leave enough room for the floor insulation to work properly (50mm is required for this). 2) I also got the EPDM roof option and had to spend a fair bit extra on materials that weren't supplied. That was the overboarding (£160) and EPDM trims (£200). Martin charged ~£620 for the EPDM roof and I found several suppliers that would supply the rubber and all the trims for £400. 3) The instructions were terrible. The log structure itself was quite easy to put together and well labelled on the drawings. All other aspects were difficult to follow and are not specific to the cabin you order. Details on time estimates: Deposit paid: June 25th Advertised lead time 6-8 weeks (expected 6-20th July) Revised estimated delivery date: 1st week of September Actual delivery date: 23rd October. Good job the weather was OK in November this year! There were some redeeming features. I am quite happy with the residential window upgrade. This did seem worthwhile and is not offered by all suppliers. Martin is also quite responsive which you wouldn't get with all companies. If I was installing another log cabin I would just go directly to the suppliers.”

Thanks for taking the time to provide valuable feedback. Composite bearers. I'm confused as to why you think the 68mm log will be unstable when sat on top. When both the bearer and log are going in the same direction, the bearers are doubled up to give an ample platform. At all other times, the bearers run perpendicular to the log ? EPDM Kit Yes, there is quite a mark up on these items, but all are optional. We don't insist you purchase these items from Garden Adventure. As previously stated, the additional items you have purchased are not essential and again optional for the roofing to work correctly. Instructions. Which element of these were "terrible" - without a bit more detail it will be difficult to understand where you were let down and how we can improve in the future ? Timings It can be difficult to accurately predict a delivery schedule when there are so many variables that can have an impact. Generally we get it pretty close. Unfortunately in your case, we failed. We will learn from this experience.

“Very pleased with cabins look and quality . We used our own tradesmen to erect it and apart from a couple of points in the instructions not being clear all went well .”

“Can't really review as although delivered, not yet erected or seen by me as is being kept under cover until the weather improves. Customer service has been very good and kept informed along the way. Although there was a delay of some 4 months, I was aware, and for me, this was not an issue.”
