Sorry to hear that you are disappointed. Our Twin Heart Tealight Holders are handmade by ourselves. As stated in our product description, the base is made from reclaimed oak whisky barrel stave.
The inside surfaces of whisky barrels are exposed to flames as part of the barrel-making process. This process creates a deep burn char into the wood. The outside surface of a whisky barrel stave can also show marks where the metal strap holds the barrel together.
