Thanks for getting in touch. Please switch to the OFF position and leave to charge for up to three days. From your post it seems as the light was not given time to charge before use. Batteries in solar lights will often have some charge in them when delivered but need to be charged to the optimum initially to operate as expected. “Nice looking lamp seems to be well made with good service recieved from lighting direct. Unfortunately after being mounted in and area that gets full sun/daylight the lamp barely lasts an hour. This means I still come home to a dark front porch”

Thanks for getting in touch. As we advise on the website solar lights will not work as long in the middle of winter as they do the rest of the year because of the reduced daylight hours. In addition Solar Lights should always be charged adequately before use. Leaving them outside, switched OFF, for approximately three days will allow the batteries to charge to the optimum. “This item was rubbish. It arrived on time and was well wrapped. When I fitted it, at first it didn't work at all so I contacted customer services to ask if it was meant to come automatically or if there was a switch somewhere. I was told there is no switch and it should just come on when charged through sunlight. I removed it from the wall to find there was a tiny switch - so customer services don't know their own products. I then refitted it with the switch on, and it worked for one night with a very weak light. Since then it hasn't worked at all. I requested a refund which came very quickly. Staff have been helpful, even if they don't know the details of their own products, and delivery was fine. It's just that the item itself is useless.”

“Pros: looks good, acceptable brightness easy to install, fair price and prompt delivery Cons: light is colder than expected, only stays on for a few hours after dark, structure is a bit rickety/flimsy”

“This is a very attractive lamp and well made, but unfortunately even after a full day of sunlight it only lasts for approximately 1 hour after dark, so is completely unsuitable for my needs. I have written to your customer service department but am still awaiting a reply. Still not had a reply from customer services, very disappointed ☹️”
