“I bought this colour as well as the 01056 Limette colour to make a sock pattern that I had wanted to make for a long time, but hadn't found one that had the correct gauge to match the pattern.
I used the Limette colour first. I always pull the yarn from the inside of the ball and noticed that there was a knot within the yarn that I pulled out to find the end of the ball. At this point I did not notice that this yarn was labelled "knot-free", so, I took the knot apart and put the length of yarn to one side. This first knot was 566cm from the end.
Later, I was looking at the ball band for some information and noticed the "knot-free" logo on it. I Googled this to find out what it meant and found this statment:
"If a knot now appears in a ball of such yarn, then it is the result of a production error and is a justified ground for a complaint."
Therefore I emailed the suggested email address about it.
After finding the one knot, I finished one sock and just started another one and found another knot, as you can see from the photo. So I had to discard what I have done and start again. To find one knot is disappointing enough, but to find two in one ball of yarn is very annoying, especially when it claims to be knot free.
Fortunately, there were no knots in the Mittelgrau ball.
I had a reply from Regia (Groves Ltd) follows:
"Thank you for this information.
I have passed this on to the buyer, who will liaise with the supplier on this issue.
Unfortunately, as we do not stock these items we are unable to assist. I recommend going back to your place of purchase, for either an exchange or a refund.
I apologise that I am unable to provide any further support. I hope you are able to resolve the issue and complete your socks!"
I was very disappointed with this response and I don't see why the shop selling the yarn should be the one to have to deal with the complaint when they did not produce the yarn.”
