I didn't have to with these as they fit perfectly, as if they were custom made for my feet. They're surprisingly light given how comfy and sturdy they are. This is the third set of footwear I have bought from Lanx as they are so beautifully made.
As per the information in the description I found them comfortable straight from the box.
I have done several long walks of over an hour and had no problems.
I would definitely advise anyone to try them on before buying and if ordering online get 2 sizes, as they recommend. I am almost always a size 7 but with Lanx footwear I find I have to go down half a size or, with these, a full size. But they fit perfectly. These are just quite roomy.

Plus: when they are throwing in free socks and spare laces, you are getting a lot of value.
