“The pivot arm needs to have threads and screws on the ends to stop them slipping out.we had that done ,now no problem.”

Dear Audrey, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The wire pivot arm needs to be attached in position using the black stoppers provided with the loft ladder upon purchase to make the wire pivot arm secure. Great to hear you've managed to secure this part.

Why Did You Choose This Product? spare part

“the pivot arm design is not very reliable as the arms ping out of the ladder even with the plugs that go on the ends . it would be better if the ends had threads that could have a nut that could be screwed on,that would I think cure the problem.”

Why Did You Choose This Product? Because it fit my ladder

“I bought the pivot arm as a replacement for my 15+ year old Youndman Easiway ladder because the existing pivot bar had buckled over the years and was making the ladder nearly impossible to get up or down without brute force. The new one I received fit perfectly and seems to be of improved design with a slightly thicker gauge metal, so should be even more durable. It fits and works perfectly with my old ladder, so I was very pleased. Beware though, it doesn't come with any fixings, just the pivot bar itself, so you will need to use your existing fittings”
