The iwalk 3 is a must buy, finances permitting. If you know you are going to be on 2 crutches for any length of time then it will free up your hands to do some general chores etc. stops you going completely mad with frustration. The iwalk 3 is a bit cumbersome but difficult to see how it could be improved. One tip. It's vital to get the heights correct or you risk hurting the good leg.

one week into ankle fusion and this iwalker is amazing. I purchased before surgery to practice using it with a moon boot on and it was very easy just after a couple of minutes of walking around. in the hospital the day after the surgery i used it to wander around and practise stairs etc with the physio in order to be allowed home as safe to self mobilise. Obviously i am meant to be on 2 weeks elevation so i use it at home just to make meals and go upstairs etc and never stay on my good foot and crutch for more an 30 minutes before sitting back down and elevating the ankle. but it really is so fantastic- have managed to walk from car to pitch side at kids football matches on the iwalker then sit in a wheelchair and its is so much easier than trying to hold ankle up just on crutches and much safer too. Very surprisingly the two physo's that i saw at the hospital do not use them and one had never even seen one before. It really is life changing post surgery if you want to be able to potter about whilst still keeping your ankle securely elevated and not dangling down which is so bad for wound healing and swelling. I will be getting the other ankle fused next year and shall keep this iwalker safe for then. My ankle injuries are netball related and i have even done a bit of shooting in the back garden on the iwalker (video is pre surgery just practising :) )

Incredibly well made and robust. I was worried it would feel wobbly but it's so sturdy. It's understandably taking a bit of getting used to to feel confident (as I haven't walked in a year), but I'm quickly improving. Most importantly to me, I feel safe using the iwalk.
