“Unfortunately cut my 2 year old’s feet to shreds after only 30 mins of wear. Rubbed both ankles where the buckle is and the back of both heels despite sizing up a little (7.5 size not available, had to go for 8) as advised in other reviews as he has wider feet.”
“Lovely to look at when they arrived, however very poorly made, they cut my sons feet the first time he wore them and the buckle was very loose as if it was about to come off. Such a shame as they were lovely colours but we only got 1 wear out of them.”
Hello Sophie,
I'm so sorry to read about your little one experiencing a cut from our sandals. We do have a number of recommendations for our Jellys, which may help. I have pasted these below for you and other readers but, having said that, jelly shoes simply don't suit some feet and we do offer a Free Returns policy to provide peace of mind. To that end, we'd always recommend, with any shoe in fact, wearing them indoors for a few hours to make sure you're happy with them, while they are still in returnable condition.
For now Sophie, we have refunded you for the two pairs of Jellies you purchased as we can't have your son with sandals he can't wear.
James
Here are our general jelly shoe recommendations, compiled from lots of testers and customers (and other sandals can be similar):
With all jelly shoes, they're recommended for occasional water wear. They are best worn around beaches or in water to protect little toes from stones. We wouldn't recommend wearing them for prolonged periods of time walking.
If you're wearing them out and about, we recommend trying them with socks for the first few wears. That can help get their feet used to the shape.
The fit on Jellies needs to be good. We don't recommend you buy them big (for growing room) and make sure they aren't small either; they need to fit well so they don't move up and down when they walk, but also so toes aren't tight at the front (to avoid toe rubbing).
