“Dear Kate and Tom, I apologise for the delay in sending this review in respect of our stay at Lansdown House the weekend of 3-6th August. We had a great family weekend at the house and the overall set up of the place was great for our large group hence my providing "acceptable" as my review. However, I did want to feedback that we felt the overall cleanliness and presentation of the house on arrival was not perfect and not the level of service we would have expected from Kate and Tom based on the cost and promise. Here are some specific examples of why we did not feel the cleanliness met our expectations: - The surfaces in the kitchen - including the large dining table were all sticky. - Many of the utensils, cutlery, plates and table mats in the cupboards of the kitchen were not clean and we had to rewash before using. - The chairs around the large dining table had long-term stains on them. - Several light bulbs around the house were not working. - One of the tvs on the first floor's ariel could not plug in. - Most of the candle holders around the house and outside had melted/dirty/used candles in them. - One of the candle holders outside, had randomly a packet of unopened new candles next to it. As though someone had not completed the job. - There were hairs on bathroom floors. - There was a random plastic bag of linen (dirty or clean?) left in the middle of the lounge room. I would be grateful if you could respond as we were a little disappointed based on the level of price and quality expected from Kate and Toms. With my kind regards, Vicky Windmill”

“Lansdown house is a beautiful house in a wonderful location. It was well equipped and very welcoming. It was the perfect place for a getaway, however I would say it is not best suited for hen parties more family breaks as there are a lot of notices all around the house stating how “critical” it is that you must not use the hot tub/be outside from 10pm which on my hen do is obviously where we wanted to be in the warm evenings after paying so much money for the weekend with the hot tub being a highlight but I was not told this prior to booking. I understand the neighbourhood is a calm place but after being told the neighbour would be reporting us to the owner if we were out after 10 and he would come round it made us feel very restricted which is why I feel it should state no hen dos/partys. There was alot of other rules and musts about recycling and cleaning which made it feel abit less like a break but apart from that we did have a wonderful time and would return with family if we were after a quiet break.”

“Landsdown House is a beautiful location within easy walking distance of all the action in the center of Cheltenham. We had a week's vacation with an extended family group of 11 from the USA including 4 young children. Plenty of room. The hot tub was a big hit with the kids. One night we organized a major catered dinner party for 14. Went off without a hitch. We organized day trips to Blenheim, Oxford, Sudeley Castle and many of the beautiful Cotswold villages nearby. The hosts were very accommodating and easy to work with. Five star experience. Should have stayed longer.”
