About Kakoa:

Kakoa the UK's biggest selection of vegan chocolate flavours.

Back in 2019 when Rich’s wife turned vegan he wanted to treat her with some chocolate but was left surprised with the lack of innovation and choice available.

He took matters into his own hands and made some vegan milk chocolates in his kitchen.

After a few months and with the help of his brother Michael KAKOA was born. The name KAKAO is German for cocoa (although with the O and A the wrong way round as we like to be different!), is a nod to the brothers German mother who was very supportive as the business grew.

Biodegradable packaging
When we started out, we made a promise that all our packaging would be 100% biodegradable. It still is and always will be.

UK’s biggest selection vegan chocolate flavours
Currently we have 19 flavours of vegan chocolate, the biggest in the UK. We believe plant based is the future of chocolate.

Award winning chocolate
We think our chocolate is epic but it’s nice when other people think the same. We are proud to have won our first Great Taste Award.

Lovely to be able to obtain a good vegan chocolate advent calendar - I have bought this one for my daughter for the last few years and she loves it!

Looks great and daughter very happy to receive it. But she hasn't eaten them yet of course - may not last till December though!

This is very much an 'investment advent calendar', even though it was purchased on sale. However, it is well worth it. I wanted to treat my vegan husband, but bought two because I wanted in on these chocolates too and I knew that neither of us would approve of sharing. We're both really, really impressed. We've had Kakoa chocolates before and loved them. Some of them seem to be recreating favourites from a well-known, now defunct, high-street chocolate store but with much more finesse and, crucially, in vegan form, others are really novel and really delicious (the Orange Blossom Turkish Delight is a particular favourite - at least, that's what we guessed it was, because in the advent calendar, there's no menu!). I couldn't improve upon the quality of the chocolates; the only change I'd make is that, given the price point, this is a very high-end advent calendar, and it would be great to see what the chocolate is, somewhere behind the door (we know each day has a particular chocolate as we've been opening the doors together every evening after dinner!). Having the name of the chocolate behind the door might help us remember our favourites and would probably motivate us to make more orders, so it could be a good marketing strategy ;) TL;DR - lovely, fancy advent calendar; makes a great gift; delicious chocolates (minor point being that we wouldn't mind knowing what we were eating!).

Excellent product. Vegans are a little forgotten with quality advent calendars but this hasn’t disappointed. Great quality and well worth the price tag. Chocolates are fab, even flavours I generally don’t enjoy have been delicious. Only improvement is that the doors are a little small and can be tricky to get the chocolates out, perhaps one to consider for next year.

Well worth the price point. High quality chocolates and something different every day. Great variety of flavours and obviously high quality chocolate.

Chocolates are very nice however advent format is not working out for me. Windows are not properly centred and because of that it’s very difficult to take chocolates out. I’m female and have slender fingers - if I struggle to take them out then I can only imagine how frustrating this would be for a man or even just generally if one has bigger hands. Perhaps mine is just poorly centred box but I still think windows are generally too small. I gave my SO a different brand advent and windows there are much bigger.
