Was a present for my wife who loved it! Would be good if he did float though.

When I saw this online, I was a bit doubtful at first about this collection, as I am a strictly Lilalu / Yarto / Bud Ducks fan, and did not want to stray, so I hesitated buying it. However, the Star Trek theme attracted me, and the photo seemed to indicate that there were some interesting details about this item. I was not disappointed at all. One has to get used to the very specific image of the brand, which does not use the same graphics and shapes than the other ones, but once one has gone past this, one realises that this is quality stuff. The details of the texturing are really smashing, down to the imitation of clothing fabrics, which no other brands even tries doing, and which is done very well here. Overall, there is a lot more texture and relief than on the ducks of other brands, if you look at the hair and facial features. The faces are a real specificity, and they are more elaborate than other brands, with, again, more texturing, such as eyebrows, and beaks with greater details. However, very often, the facial expressions in this collection seem to be less friendly and happy than in other brands, which I am not sure I like. One thing that one does need to get used to, when one is familiar with the standard ducks, is the size of these ones. I did not expect this when I ordered, and realised, when it arrived, that it is huge. It sort of stands out, if you have a collection. Especially so because it comes in a funny but voluminous bathtub (do they all do?), which also takes space. Which means that one needs to have a lot more space, if one wishes to have a whole series of these. I guess the size and attention to details justify the price, about double that of the standard brands. Which means that getting the whole series becomes an investment. That might be an obstacle. To summarise, I think that this is really good, and the series seems to be great, but I am divided between liking the really cool idiosyncrasies of these ducks and being bothered by them not being quite like the others. I am not sure that I will get the whole collection, but I am certainly going to get more Star Trek ones, and also some from the Lord of the Rings.
