I have been playing with this Paddle for about a month now and I must say that I sensed immediately the difference between my slick paddle and the now carbon paddle. You have a better grip on the ball and my slice game is improving day by day. I can recommend this paddle to anyone.

This paddle from Joola is quite new and in the same price range as the Hyperion Ben Johns paddles, but with a number of notable differences.Like two of the three Hyperions, this is a 16mm paddle, a width preferred by many top players. The Radius's Carbon Grip Surface is similar in look and feel to the top-of-the-line Hyperion model's Carbon Friction Surface. I don't know if there is a difference beyond the name; it looks and feels the same to me.This paddle lacks the Hyperion CFS's Hyperfoam edge and it has a single-cell-size polymer honeycomb core unlike the hybrid cell sizes of the Hyperion CST. But the Response core's honeycomb cells in this paddle are identical to those in the Hyperion 16 CAS paddle--larger for more control and a more forgiving touch. The Radius's handle is short--just 5 inches--and could be a challenge for two-handed backhanders with large hands. The handle is made out of the polymer of the core which extends through it like the tang of a knife extending the metal of the blade through the handle. The polymer core at the center of the handle is, like a knife handle, sandwiched between wood pieces and then all three pieces are wrapped with the grip tape. In extending the polymer core through the handle the Radius is unlike the Hyperion CST model which has a full carbon handle, but like the Hyperion 16 CAS and the Hyperion 13.5 CAS which use the same handle construction technique. The Radius is a very light paddle, 7.6 oz, currently the lightest in Joola's lineup. This is slightly more of a finesse than a power paddle in my opinion, an opinion shared by other reviewers as well. It's a high-quality racket for a top player from what is probably the top paddle manufacturer in the pickleball world.

This pedal is pretty uniquely designed. Most likely a few cues were taken from their history as a ping-bong company. The head is on the heavier side at just over 7 ounces, but it still feels light and provides a soft fuel which is good for spin and less for power. You can still get power with it, just built more for spin and control. It’s a great paddle for a particular type of player with a certain style. You’ll know if you are this type of player. Recommend.

I’ve owned several paddles in the $30-$50 price point . This is a much more expensive paddle but I believe it is absolutely worth it. The feel, control, size of the “sweet spot”, grip, power, look/aesthetics, all make this paddle pretty amazing. While it is not the paddle with the most power, it is more efficient and takes less effort to achieve a good amount of power. This is for me probably more of a control game paddle and I would maybe look at other options if I was a pure power player.I would highly recommend this paddle and this manufacturer.

My husband has about 30 pickleball paddles and is a certified instructor. This review is from his comments about the Joola Radius Pro. The Joola line of paddles is only about 6 months old, as they were primarily a ping pong company. Many of the pro players are using the Joola paddle for two main reasons. The textured carbon surface and the combination of the 16mm thickness imparts more spin on the ball. My paddle weighed in at 7.5 ounces, which is mid-weight and personally a weight he likes. The grip diameter was 4-1/2" which is considered a pretty large grip and the shape is a standard 8 sides, but feels pretty round in your hand. The shape is like a large ping pong paddle, not a very common pickleball paddle shape. After playing with the paddle, he agrees it can impart good spin. It has a very "buttery" soft feel, but can put some power into shots. He would put it more in the "soft game" category than the "power game" category. The width is just over 8" and the length 15-3/4", putting in the average size paddle category, a little wider than most. Standard length grip, so not necessarily a two-handed paddle. At $179, it puts it in the higher priced category, although there are $300+ paddles now being sold. If the surface can stay "gritty" and not wear off quickly, I feel it is properly priced. 5 stars.

This is a weighty paddle and it takes a little time to get used to it if you’re coming from an entry level paddle. My family makes a big sport out of pickleball and I’ve been getting more into it lately. We play in our driveway but it can get pretty competitive. I wanted to spoil myself and impress the kids and this pro paddle is doing the job well.

I love playing with this paddle. It only comes in one weight, 7.5, which is slightly more then the one I was using but I really couldn’t notice. The grip on this is great. The control is wonderful. The price is high so maybe you should make sure you LOVE pickleball before you invest.
