I went from a Selkirk amped epic 7.3oz which is an awesome paddle but I wanted more power to put away shots and wanted topspin for a stronger serve while keeping the control and sweet spot/forgiveness of the amped epic. This scorpeus 14mm feels like an awesome upgrade without losing control or the sweet spot of my amped. I am putting away shots better at the opponents feet and am much faster/powerful at volleys along with a great topspin serve that I have been trying to get good at. Couldn’t have asked for better. Also I like a light paddle so going from 7.3oz to 7.8oz was so much better than 8.0oz or heavier paddles. Thanks Joola and Thanks Amazon for sending it overnight.

I'm fairly new to Pickle Ball, but as a former semi-pro Raquetball and Paddle Tennis player, I feel I know a a thing or two about rackets and paddles. In my opinion, there are two types of players who will invest in this type of premium paddle: Amateur players who will gear up with the most expensive equipment so they can look the part without fully understanding why they're making the investment and seasoned players who are serious about the sport and are looking to leverage every advantage their equipment can add to their play style. If you're the first type of player, just buy the paddle and be happy in the knowledge that you're playing with one of the best paddles available - even if that doesn't translate to your game.If you're the second type of player, read on.The Joola Scorpeus paddle features a polymer core within a framed carbon design. This is capped with roughed paddle face - which Joola calls the Carbon Friction Surface (CFS). Combined, these technologies offer a noticeable improvement in control and ball response. At just under 8oz, the paddle is slightly heavier than the common honeycomb core paddles that most people play with but still light weight enough to provide maneuverability without an increase in drag. The weigh is only slightly forward giving the paddle good balance through the swing and sufficient power for any banger out there. By contrast, the Carbon Friction Surface offers a tremendous bite on the ball giving incredible control on spins and dinks. In play, the Feel-Tec grip is not only comfortable in the hand, but gets tackier as your hand sweats reducing slippage without limiting your ability to reposition for each shot. As a full system, I found the Scorpeus to be equally accommodating on both the forehand and backhand serving up deadly smashes and wicked dinks without excessive feedback or vibration. Simply put, I love how it plays.I had the opportunity to try both the Scorpeus and Perseus paddles side-by-side and can confidently say that the Scorpeus has become my "go to" paddle. While both feature the same technology, for my play style, the Scorpeus has a more balanced feel, wider sweet spot, and strong attack. It offers a high level and broad spectrum of control from nuanced dinks to full power smashes. It is solid in the hand and easy to play multiple matches without fatigue. For serious players, the Joola Scorpeus does not disappoint.

I recently took up pickleball after years of seeing the guys playing it at the Y but never giving it a go. Well, as you know once you start you really get into it. I always had a paddle that was given to me (used) and just assumed that all paddles were the same, just some were more expensive for those foolish enough to spend the money. I decided to give this one by Joola a go and see if there was any difference at all. Boy was I wrong, the difference was immediately evident on removing it from the box and feeling it in my hand. The weight, the grip, the flex were all spot on. Yes, the paddle does make a difference and a good paddle gives you an edge. No amount of money for a paddle will make me great at pickleball but it has improved my game.

I would rate this as one of the best paddles out there. I have tried gearbox cx14, engage MX 6.0, carbon 3x in the past. Engage was my favorite. But it is heavier than joola scorpius which limited the ability to maneuver at the kitchen line. Despite it being light weight, it is surprisingly stable at resetting shots. The drives are amaaaaazing! Try it and see it for yourselves. Not every paddle appeals to everyone. Hope this helps.

This JOOLA Anna Bright Scorpeus Pickleball paddle is so much nicer than I deserve. I am relatively new to Pickleball and am still taking lessons, but I thought I should learn to play on a really good paddle rather than having to adjust to a new paddle as my skills improve. The weight and feel of this paddle is so much nicer than the one I had been using and the grip is incredibly soft in your hand. It also has a generous sweet spot for which I am very grateful. As a newbie I’m not the best one to judge the quality of this professional paddle but my Pickleball instructor tried it and loved it. So if Pickleball is your passion, treat yourself to this incredible paddle to improve your confidence and your game.

My wife and I have been playing pickleball for a year, and we have recently switched to more advanced paddles. I currently use an Engage Pursuit Ultra MX 6.0, and my wife is now using the JOOLA Anna Bright Scorpeus. This paddle is lighter than mine and the grip is smaller (personally, I'd recommend it to someone who doesn't have large hands--for me the grip is uncomfortably small, but then this paddle is not meant for me).My wife's comments:- Very comfortable grip- Light- Fits style of play since the very first game- Great sweet spot- Great control and power

From the first hit I loved this paddle. It took zero seconds to get used to the feel of it and my game instantly improved. My doubles partner happened to be sitting out the first game when I tried it out and counted how many shots I hit before I missed one. It was quite impressive how it immediately upped my game. I attribute this in part to the large sweet spot and the grittier surface (compared to my last two paddles). Power, spin and accuracy! The slightly tacky grip allows me to hit with power even with sweaty hands. I was concerned that I wouldn't like the rim because it might allow some missed angle shots but that simply was not the case. Another player and my partner wanted to try it out (they of course loved it) so I also got to see how nice it looks during play. For me the best thing about this paddle is how light it is. My tennis elbow had been kicking up earlier in the day but with this paddle there was considerably less stress and no pain even after hours of play. I realize that an ultra light paddle is not for everyone but for those looking for a heftier feel I would suggest adding weights. I really am enjoying this lighter weight.I, for one, am unconcerned that there is no case as I keep my paddles in my bag when they are not being played and that would just add bulk to my bag. For me this is the perfect paddle for my game. It is a bit pricey compared to some but if you try it and love it like I did you'll find it worth the investment in your game.

I thought my old paddle was great. This makes my old paddle a child's toy. Joola scorpeus paddle has a great control, its light weight and has an awesome grip. Big hitting surface makes it easy to hit the ball and not get your fingers in the way. We've been playing pickleball for a while, but still learning it. But I'm good enough now to really see and feel the difference between cheap paddles and good ones. I'm glad I got this paddle. It almost gives me an uneven advantage. The carbon friction surface makes it so easy to spin the balls making it extremely hard to return. This is a high quality paddle. We're planning on going into small tournaments. I'll use this paddle for tournaments and for practice. It'll be my main guy until it falls apart. Which will probably take forever.
