JOOLA Pickleball Schläger Seneca CDS 16 Reviews

TLDR: Seems like a really nice paddle but I’m still a new player! We have the beginner Franklin brand set and loved it so we figured why not up our game some? I still can’t tell a huge difference but I definitely feel like it’s easier and more fun to play using this paddle. I do think it helps with technique but again I am soo new to this that it’s hard to tell right now if this is worth the extra money or not! It came in beautiful packaging and honestly this looks like a more professional paddle and feels like it too! I would say it’s worth it but as I get better and try other styles I’ll have to decide which suits me more and if I would go for some other paddle from beginner to intermediate or not! All I know is we have the Joola brand gym bags and absolutely love them, so I’m hoping the same quality applies to all their paddles as well!!

We're new to pickleball and have heard it is important to have a good-quality paddle. We had started with the basic kind thinking it wouldn't be important. It is important....everyone told us so. Everyone is still better than we are, but now we know it is our own play/technique that needs attention, not the tools.

This paddle delivers unrivaled control and shot placement. Its 16mm Carbon Drive Surface provides a perfect balance of touch and speed, while the Response Polypropylene Honeycomb Core reduces vibration and increases durability. It has a nice enhanced grip, comfort, and less fatigue.I'm only a beginner pickleball player, but so far this paddle feels nice and light. I'll have to play with it more to get a better idea of why this racquet is priced so high.

This is a nice paddle for a beginner who would like to invest in a better performing paddle. It has a nice balance of power and control with a 16 mm thick core. It's a much better paddle than any beginner paddle you will play with. The face of the paddle is smooth with no discernable texture. But, it's not slippery, just smooth. I can impart some spin to the ball but not nearly as much as a carbon fiber or textured face.I've played with other higher end Joola paddles. This is not in the same class as the paddles in the $250 range. There is a substantial improvement in play with the upper end paddles, as you would hope. But depending upon your experience you may not notice it. I think the real question is whether, at this price point, you would be more satisfied with a carbon fiber face. I have a different paddle in the $100 ish price range that I like much better. I recommend, if you can, to demo this plus other paddles in this range before buying.

This pickelball paddle feels balanced and light weight. The honeycomb polymer core makes a big difference in my game as compared to my other paddle. It has really good ratings for control, power, and spin. This is the nicest paddle that I have owned. Product is as described. 5 stars!!

The Seneca series of pickleball paddles lie at the lower end of Joola's range. Though not cheap, they're significantly less expensive than much of the rest of Joola's paddle line. What's missing or changed? Probably the first and most obvious difference to my mind is the texture of the face which is significantly smoother than the Hyperion and Raidius carbon surface paddles. The Seneca shares its Response Polymer Honeycomb Core with some of the more expensive Joola paddles. it has a good protective edge, but lacks the Hyperfoam Edge Wall of some more expensive rackets from Joola, increasing their sweet spot. The racket's weight is a medium 8.1 ounces. The handle is 5 inches long, slightly on the short side. This is a great paddle for beginning and intermediate players. it's long on control, shorter on power, a paddle that imparts confidence in placement slightly at the expense of power. The other paddle in the Senece line (FDS 14) has a fiberglass rather than carbon face, and is thinner, allowing more power somewhat at the price of control.

Been playing 8 years and have tried a lot of paddles, this is one is one of my favorites..It is light, has a nice solid feel, and consistent hitting area. I think it shines as control paddle, whichI prefer to have over power. Power and Spin are ok though.. I like the handle it’s 4.25 inches slightlyNarrower. It has sticky type grip that holds up well under sweaty conditions…The blue pattern is attractive..

This paddle has an impressive sweet spot. The handle is super comfortable even after playing for a long time. It feels snappy and responsive. I’ve never been disappointed with any joola paddle but you can for sure tell the quality difference between this and the lower quality Joola’s.
