“Going from a cheap entry level paddle to this has been a big upgrade. It is comfortable and is well balanced. It is responsive and I feel like I have more control over the ball. This is my first name brand paddle, so I don't have much to compare it against, but I really enjoy playing it it. Works well for a someone who plays 1-2x a month with friends.”
“I would consider this somewhere between a beginner and intermediate player. The grit and control is pretty good, but not professional quality. If you want to get into the sport, this is a decent place to start. Joola makes quality paddles. Recommend.”
“This review is from my husband's opinion of this paddle. He is a pickleball instructor with about 30 paddles. He has experience with several Joola paddles and generally he likes them. For those who don't know Joola, it was predominately a ping pong company that decided to start making pickleball paddles. They made Ben Johns, the GOAT pickleballer as it's signature player. He says the Joola Ben Johns paddles are frequently seen on the courts with higher level players. As far as I know, all Joola paddles are made in China. This Joola Seneca paddle has a fiberglass paddle face, which generally is a harder surface, enabling more power than touch. The paddle I received weighed in at 7.8 ounces, which is a very common weight, but I felt it was head heavy. When playing, I didn't perceive any additional spin and was fine for groundstrokes and exhibited good power. It has a very nice, comfortable grip and the face graphics are appealing. All in all, a decent paddle for beginners to intermediates.Where the problem lies is the price. At $99, there a hundreds of Chinese made paddles, here on Amazon, for about 1/3 the price that would play about the same. Carbon Fiber paddles are the newest technology in paddles and there are some new brands selling Carbon paddles at the $99 price point. I don't dislike the paddle but dislike the price. 4 stars.”
“I’m making the jump from competitive tennis to pickleball (female here). This paddle’s combination of features really suits my natural strokes - Joola Seneca - 14mm. I’m particularly drawn to the weight distribution. The paddle is mid-weight - 8 oz, the head weight feels centered near the base of the face, right above the grip. This allows me to have easy power but also control on finesse shots. There’s also comfort, the paddle is a natural-feeling easy extension, there’s little stress on my wrist (I still have my slice). It should work well for multiple levels of play. (Intermediate Player-Female)”
“This is an excellent paddle for the ~$99 price. Note there is a $129 version which I do not have. For the price, it offers great control, a solid grip (and a long one which I love) and overall just great balance. The weight is just right and while the surface lacks texture to support significant spin, I was able to get a good bit of spin from this paddle. Overall, just highly recommended and a winner from Joola.”
“The Joola Seneca FDS 14 is the lowest priced paddle in their “Pro” series. It’s a huge improvement over my beginners paddle. This paddle feels right in my S-M sized hand, and it provides more power and control. It also seems easier to apply spin, but that may be just my wishful thinking. My wife owns a Joola Journey. This paddle is an incremental improvement over that one, but at a $30 premium, so depending on your skill level and depth of your wallet, you should also consider that one.Would I like a carbon paddle in the $200 range? Yes. Am I a good enough player to take full advantage of a carbon paddle? No. So for now, this $100 Joola Seneca paddle will serve just fine.”
