“The Joola Vision 14 and 16 are slightly different in feel based on difference in thickness, but otherwise identical. The thicker 16mm Vision paddle has better touch and control and seems more forgiving. The 14 is stiffer, giving more power and more vibration when the ball is struck. Both paddles have Joola's Carbon Grip Surface which feels indistinguishable to my touch from the Joola Hyperion 16's Carbon Friction Surface. The racket's face allows great ball grip for putting spin on the ball. These are lighter paddles than the Hyperion line, Joola's top models currently. Their dimensions are similar though the Hyperions weigh nearly an ounce more. The major differences between Vision and Hyperion models lie in the handles and the edge construction. Handles on the top Hyperion model are made of carbon while the Vision handles are the underlying poymer of the face sandwiched between wood grips. Additionally, the Hyperfoam Edge Wall in the Hyperion 16 reduces bounce and gives a larger sweet spot.. The integrated carbon handle of the Hyperion is more bendable, giving greater recoil power, while the handle of the Vision models is stiffer. These are excellent paddles from Joola. Vision models are only surpassed technologically by the Ben Johns Hyperion 16 CFS paddle in the Hyperion line. Spin and control in this paddle are excellent. Power is a touch less than some other paddles. A fine top-of-the-line pair of paddles for those with the skill to appreciate them.”
“I got this for my husband who is an intermediate player. I thought with the price tag it would be more his speed, but it is definitely an expensive beginners paddle. We have some other honey comb paddles with nicer grip that we like. Overall if this were on sale I would think about it, but with this price tag it wasn't amazing.”
“I am a complete novice pickle ball player. I thought it would be wise to start with one of the best paddles I could find. My first impression when it arrived was, this paddle is so nice, lightweight, great grip, large playing surface, and high-quality materials/construction. My neighbors have won several doubles tournaments and know a lot about pickle ball. When I told them I had this paddle, they were familiar with it and said they were jealous. Ha! We played a little lobbing back and forth and then came the revelation. This might be too much paddle for a beginner. The textured surface can create more spin on every serve, drive, and dink, provided you know what you’re doing. I loaned it to my friend and he demonstrated. He was very impressed with its performance. Then he handed me a more beginner paddle. I began to realize that until I master the basics of control, returning the ball, and making those dinks, this is overkill for me. Kind of like taking a Ferrari to a driver’s test. I aspire to this paddle. For anyone that is beyond a beginner, I highly recommend it. One warning: the paddle arrives with a heavy plastic protection wrapped around the grip. I couldn’t find a seam to tear it off so I opted for an X-ACTO razor blade knife to nick the plastic so I could start peeling it off. In doing so, I also nicked the band at the top of the grip. (See picture.) My bad. Should have started at the bottom of the grip instead.”
“This paddle is light and just looks awesome. The light weight means i wont throw out my elbow paddling the Wife ( LOL ) please do not tell her i said that or she might use it on me. All funny aside it has great hand feel and fabulous fit and finish. I would buy again. 5 STARS”
“Paddle overall was ehh, didn’t really have anything that I was amazed about. I bought this paddle because everyone was talking about Joola and the spin that it has. It does have great spin, but my CRBN paddle I feel had much more spin than this one. I like the control it has but the power is lacking. I can’t hit drives consistently with it. I would either hit it too hard or too soft. Nice paddle to own, this would be in my backpack as a #3 backup paddle to use.”
“I've been playing ping-pong for many years, but recently decided to branch out into pickleball. Joola makes quality ping-pong equipment, and I've purchased several items from this brand that have all been excellent. When I saw that Joola also make pickleball equipment, I decided to give it a try. It's a terrific paddle. Before using this one, I was using a no-big-deal paddle that came with a net set. The difference is huge. This paddle feels lighter, and allows me to have a much more natural swing. When the ball hits this paddle, there's a nice "jump" off the surface that I really like. It even sounds more pleasing!I'm not yet quite good enough at pickleball to take full advantage of this paddle's textured surface for increasing spin. But in recent weeks, I've improved my game. On more and more shots, I get more spin, and I can see a big difference with this paddle, as compared to my original "regular" paddles. This paddle makes playing pickleball much more enjoyable, providing a more natural swing and a chance to see improvements in my game. I recommend it.”
