The Joola Vision 14 and 16 are slightly different in feel based on difference in thickness, but otherwise identical. The thicker 16mm Vision paddle has better touch and control and seems more forgiving. The 14 is stiffer, giving more power and more vibration when the ball is struck. Both paddles have Joola's Carbon Grip Surface which feels indistinguishable to my touch from the Joola Hyperion 16's Carbon Friction Surface. The racket's face allows great ball grip for putting spin on the ball. These are lighter paddles than the Hyperion line, Joola's top models currently. Their dimensions are similar though the Hyperions weigh nearly an ounce more. The major differences between Vision and Hyperion models lie in the handles and the edge construction. Handles on the top Hyperion model are made of carbon while the Vision handles are the underlying poymer of the face sandwiched between wood grips. Additionally, the Hyperfoam Edge Wall in the Hyperion 16 reduces bounce and gives a larger sweet spot.. The integrated carbon handle of the Hyperion is more bendable, giving greater recoil power, while the handle of the Vision models is stiffer. These are excellent paddles from Joola. Vision models are only surpassed technologically by the Ben Johns Hyperion 16 CFS paddle in the Hyperion line. Spin and control in this paddle are excellent. Power is a touch less than some other paddles. A fine top-of-the-line pair of paddles for those with the skill to appreciate them.”
“My wife and I are pretty much beginner players, having only played in high school (a long while back) and coming into the sport anew. So please take that into consideration in this review.I had the chance to get us each a new pickle ball paddle and I grabbed this JOOLA Vision Pickleball Paddle with Textured Carbon Grip for her. While these two paddles, both from JOOLA, are extremely similar in look, there are a couple slight variations. I think the main - perhaps only - thing we noticed in difference is that mine is slightly heavier. Otherwise, for these beginners, they are each excellent and very similar. Perhaps as we get better we will find other differences, but as beginners, we each love the paddle we have and to us, they are almost one and the same. Again, note that mine is blue and slightly heavier, while hers, this JOOLA Vision Pickleball Paddle with Textured Carbon Grip, is slightly lighter and black. But beyond that, they seem to us to be similar in build. Our hits are going to continue to improve along with our confidence. I have to say, I do notice the weight more, but I have no issue - and this ever-so-slight weight difference is one that does not affect my swing. However, my wife does say she prefers her lighter version. The area we both love about the JOOLA is the grip. Without question, of all the paddles we have, the JOOLA's grip is the best, top of the heap, and the reason we'd (so far) pick a JOOLA over the others. As we get better, that may change. But for both of us, we feel far more connection to the paddle than we have with others. So in the end, grip alone sells us on this JOOLA Vision Pickleball Paddle with Textured Carbon Grip.”
“Carbon face very effective. Handle best texture, grip, and about 3/8" longer than previous 3 paddles feels like an extension of your arm instead of a tool. Have confidence your previously low percentage serves will work!”
“The design and performance are all that I expected. Particularly like the touch for dinks and drop shots. The grip is extremely nice. Very playable paddle for more advanced players.”
