“I'm new to this sport but I can definitely tell the difference between racket and those newbie kits of 4 with bags/balls. It's lighter in the weight and I would not try spinning techniques without this racket.”
“As a player with a good deal of accuracy, I like to use a paddle that doesn’t take away from my pickleball skill and I felt like cheaper paddles did. It was a cumbersome experience. I tried out JOOLA’s offering and am very impressed with the light weight and snappy responsiveness of this paddle. I have good control playing with this paddle.”
“Being relatively new to pickleball, I have little to compare the Joola paddles to. So instead, I'll give an overview of the differences between the Ben Johns Perseus and the Collin Johns Scorpeus. First off, both are listed as 8oz but I found the Perseus to be slightly lighter by almost half an oz. Maybe my scale has trouble getting that precise though. The Perseus is narrower but also has a slightly longer handle than the Scorpeus. The Scorpeus looks to be more about control (Scorpeus 95, Perseus 94) vs the Perseus which has a slightly higher power rating (Perseus 95, Scorpeus 94.) Both have the same spin rating of 95. Really what it seems to come down to is the Perseus has a slightly longer handle and narrower paddle surface where the Scorpeus has a wide paddle surface and a small handle.”
“I can definitely see a difference with the higher end paddles. The ball pops off the paddle differently than with the cheaper paddle. I'm still a novice (in my mind) working on control but it feels good playing with it. I love the color of it and that it's not too flashy. My only pet peeve, for this price point, Joola can't include a cover to protect this investment?”
“The Paddle is extremely light weight I assume due to the carbon fiber it is made out of and the grib is comfortable as well, however, it is definitely not worth the price and wouldn't waste your money on it”
“This is a very high-quality paddle from one of the best names in Pickleball (and other racquet sports). Priced at $250 I would expect that Joola would provide a paddle case rather then just a thin piece of pink plastic shipping sleeve. For the money you get excellent control, a high-quality grip and high-quality materials.”
“This Joola Scorpius 16mm pickleball paddle was nothing but WOW! Having only played for a few months and upgrading from a two-piece carbon paddle to this thermoformed paddle has been extremely wonderful and enjoyable in the courts. The pop is distinguishable and while it looks large in size, its lightweight makes for a lot of power output. With over 50hrs of play time on the paddle, I have yet to notice any issues. It is indeed a very well made paddle for both novice and pro alike.”
