“Moving up from an intermediate player to advanced player not only takes practice, but a great paddle. After trying a few paddles from a local store I know the Joola Hyperion had the feel and control I wanted in my game. Since Joola recently released their 3rd generation of paddles, this 2nd generation paddle dropped significantly in price and made it a GREAT value.”
“The additional speed and spin have helped my game tremendously! Not quite to Ben Johns level...but getting there..hahaha! But seriously, a great amount of spin, I hope it lasts!”
“I really like this paddle. Very forgiving. I had very few mis-hits. Huge sweet spot. Only gave it four stars because does not have much power. That I can live with. I can always add weight to the paddle for that. Played very well with it. I play 5 days a week. Indoor/outdoor. I have had the Swift version of this paddle but it was not a stable. This paddle weighs more but still quick with my hands at net. Nothing really bad to say about it. I compared the hyperion to the Perseus and the Hyperion C2. I only paid $150 for this original version of Hyperion. At this price point I do not think it would be worth spending the $250 on the Perseus or C2. I have read the Perseus has a better grip. Does not matter to me cuz I put an overgrip on it anyways.”
“This is a great paddle. I played with it today for the first time. I had left the plastic on the handle in case I didn't like it. After the first game, the plastic came off. I am keeping it. I'm a 3.5 -4 player. Playing for two years with the same inexpensive paddle, I didn't know what I was missing. Great pop off the paddle. Very smooth returns, with better spin potential. The only challenge is that I'm very short and the handle is a bit long and wide in handle circumference. I'll get used to that. Highly recommend.”
“Only 4 stars due to the price. Otherwise this is a good paddle which gives good control for a variety of shots. Would recommend as a paddle upgrade for someone who started with a beginner paddle. Paddle has contributed to improvement in my pickleball game.”
“I think this was a good price for a Ben John's Hyperion model I'm really a shell Kirk guy but I thought that I would try the Ben John's model it's not really shooted for the way I play pickleball but I think the price was right for this very very good racket”
“This is my third pickleball racket. I like the feel and the slim, large contact area of this paddle, and has a longer grip area. With the longer grip I am able to stabilize the paddle better and not flick my wrists. I have more control. I did add a few pickle ball weights to the edge and added additional wrapping to the handle.”
