“If you are starting to take the game seriously, JOOLA's are hard to go wrong with when you are ready to upgrade your gear. This paddle is no exception. I'm not a good player, but friends who play used this one and liked it a lot. THey may end up getting their own.”
“This Joola Ben Johns Hyperion Swift Pickleball Paddle is a premium paddle. This is a well-made paddle that responds well and has great spin control as well. Little and nimble, the paddle is fun to hold.I need all the help I can get, having played with just beginner quality gear prior, this paddle helped improve my game. I look forward to spending more quality time with this paddle by Joola.”
“I recommend this paddle for advanced players that are seeking control with a little extra weight with Swift technology. The JOOLA web site provides a great explanation of all the paddle’s features. I started with a generic paddle found a most recreational centers as a loaner for beginner level play. I quickly advanced and purchased a top level paddle but after six months of play it developed a dead spot. I decided to try this JOOLA paddle and have been very happy with the performance. The paddle has a very coarse surface on the face to give extra control for cross-court dink shots and consistency with third shot drops. It has significant power as well and I’m able to drive more balls low over the net during indoor play. The handle grip is cushioned but I have experienced a little bit of slippage during a power game. I don’t think it is the fault of the grip material, my hand produces excessive moisture so I’ve added some grip tape to my fingertips for additional firmness. I’m looking forward to further testing the paddle and comparing it to the 14mm paddle, which is slightly lighter in weight. One thing I don’t like which has nothing to do with its performance is the white color of the grip. I’ve used the paddle at an indoor facility for approximately two weeks and the grip shows all the dirt from my hand, which doesn’t clean back to pure white easily. I was surprised at the packaging for the paddle during shipping. It arrived in a thin bubble wrap style envelope which did little to protect such an expensive paddle. The paddle’s edges were slightly scuffed in a few places which apparently occurred during the shipping process.”
“This Joola Ben Johns Hyperion Swift Pickleball Paddle is a premium paddle. I have a few friends that are firefighters and they play a lot. So I need every advantage I can get. This is a great paddle - responds well and gives me awesome spin and control too. The paddle is lightweight and feels good playing. Premium Paddle with solid construction and quality.”
“I have a similar paddle to this but I do like this one more. It is also a bit more money. This paddle is a bit thicker than my other paddles and I find that i do like it more this way. It is still lightweight while having a great feel in the hand. My other paddle has a bit of a sandpaper or gritty feel on the surface that I feel might wear down as I use the paddle more. That is just how sandpaper works. This one is almost more of a fabric look and feel. I find it just looks and feels better. The only thing I did not like was that it did not come with a cover. I get that most people have their own but I feel at this price it could have been included. Other than that this is about as perfect a paddle as I have had.”
“We’ve been playing with beginner and intermediate paddles for several months. We play casually every other week. I was curious to try a higher quality paddle and also give my dad a chance to try something better since he plays several times each week.We compared the Ben John’s and Simone Jardin Swift paddles to some basic Joola racquets. The Swift paddles are similar exceptfor grip size 4 1/4 vs 4 1/8 and head width 16mm vs 14mm. It is immediately noticeable upgrade from the base paddles. I like have a larger handle. You can hear less pop in the thicker paddles.I’m still getting a feel so I wouldn’t say there huge difference in ball control until I master my spin. My dad prefers the Simone paddle as he feels it hits the ball better. That may be due to the thickness. I feel like I have better control because of the smaller grip for a smaller hand. It’s a good paddle but my dad prefers the $150 Selkirk as this point of trying each paddle once. Not sure if it’s worth the full $200+ price.”
“I’ve been a paddletek player since I started playing Pickleball. After trying the Joola 16mm I have better control of my dinking and spin shots. The carbon friction surface enables my spin shots more challenging to return by my opponents. I can’t hardly feel the impact of the ball on the paddle due to its superb absorption capability. It’s worth the price. I love it.”
