I had always wished to visit Bath and see the places Jane Austen lived in and wrote about. The Jane Austen Centre did not disappoint. The exhibits were well presented and extremely interesting. I encourage all Janeites to go see it for themselves.

It is a lovely place for fans, and the shop has a lot of pretty things that are supper tempting! After reading Lucy Worsley's Jane Austen at Home, there was not much new information during the visit, but for someone who does not know that much about JA I believe it is very interesting. All staff was very kind. I forgot some medication and had to be back the next day, and again everyone was five stars! I would be a little more careful about the condition/hygiene of the china used in the Tea Room and be a bit more generous with the amount of tea! But both the music and Colin Firth were lovely.

The centre is easy to find and you are greeted by a gentleman in regency costume at the door. The guides present the exhibits well, speak clearly and are friendly and welcoming. There is a good amount of information about Jane Austen, her family and times, as well as the city of Bath that she knew. There are some activities too.

Purchased tickets for my wife's birthday (she is a massive Jane Austen fan). Thoroughly enjoyed the day out. Good value for money. Would recommend anyone to take a visit (even if you are not a Jane Austen fan like me).

I am a long-time member of the Jane Austen Society of America (JASNA) , have written papers, presented papers and was the West Coast Scholar in 2012...and I really loved the afternoon family spent with you. The house is lovely, the gift shop tasteful and the museum itself excellently curated. The speaker dressed in a naval uniform on such a warm day was amazing...really funny at times and without notes gave a superb overview of Austen's life and family. I was very impressed with the whole event. The tea upstairs (just a cup each as we were running out of time) was wonderful as well. How do I send photos of when we dressed up...that was fun! Thanks for such a Janeite experience! Pauline Beard Portland Oregon..
