Mr Darcy's Guide to Pemberley Reviews

5 Rating 48 Reviews
I always love buying from the Jane Austen Centre online gift shop. My package was beautifully wrapped by Miss Henrietta, and the offer I had at the time was too good to miss. I bought the very yummy book chocolates as well as the gorgeously presented Mr Darcy's Guide to Pemberley (signed by the author), and got a beautiful free Netherfield cake set! Mr Darcy's Guide to Pemberley is a must for any Jane Austen, with beautiful drawings, and very creatively imagined.

This was delayed in coming, two weeks is the longest I have ever had to wait for an order, normally its the next day, the lack of speed made me panic for a while. But it was worth the wait. I love the style and design of the book, the illustrations and the memories of that reunion between him and Elizabeth, from his perspective. It would be lovely to have a sequel with the interiors depicted and memories in the same style, from Elizabeth and or Mrs Reynolds perhaps?

I just love having another form of Mr. Darcy in my living room. His Guide to Pemberly sits on the coffee table, along with coasters of his charming face, similar coffee cups, a framed large portrait of him outside Pemberly, and now his guide to that magnificent mansion. It’s a delight to sit and thumb through the pages and remember my visit to Pemberly (Lyme Park) but I wonder why the illustrations are drawings/paintings and not actual photographs.
