“Not every native speaker of English is qualified to teach English. There are speakers and there are teachers. Not every teacher is qualified to teach English. The ITTT TEFL 120-hour course addresses both issues. It tells the English speaker some of the “whys” about his native language as well as some of the difficulties and confusion that the non-native speaker may encounter. It also helps the native speaker understand teaching techniques and ways to keep the class dynamic and interesting. The focus remains on the student. That focus is clear not only in preparation, but also in the TEFL course itself. Obviously, there are limitations in an totally online class, but this course works well to overcome them as far as possible in the settings given. I recommend the course to anyone desiring to become a qualified TEFL teacher.”
