“I have just completed an ITTT 120 hour course with a tutor and videos. I have been tutoring/teaching part time in various settings in Hong Kong for almost 20 years. I would highly recommend this course. The content was balanced and very helpful. As I progressed through the units I appreciated the mix of language and teaching skills that were covered. There was lots of information about what TEFL teaching is actually like and extensive resources presented for teachers to make use of. Towards the end of the course I began to feel that many of the gaps I had had through not being formally trained were addressed and that I had a firm place from which to launch into classroom teaching. I was able to access comprehensive support from ITTT when I needed it. I also appreciate the fact that they provide several kinds of support that are on a lifetime basis, particularly when it comes to finding work.”

“This course is everything it says it is. I appreciated being able to do a lesson on my time and take as long as needed to finish. It was helpful to be able to go back over the lesson once the video had been viewed. I could complete a lesson in less than two hours which was very helpful with my busy life. The lesson tests were also very manageable and to the point. The only criticism I have is that I was unable to redo a test once it had been submitted. On several occasions, I was interrupted in the middle of a test and felt I had to hurry through to deal with an urgent situation. I scored lower on those tests and wanted to redo them but that is not an option. I believe that I could have just stopped and not submitted the test which allowed me to write it again but hadn't read that clearly at the beginning. All said and done, it is an excellent course and I learned a lot. I started working in an ESL program midway through the course and find the information I learned and the resources available to me have been invaluable.”

“I averaged over 80 percent throughout and received a final grade of C. It is not accurate. I inquired via email and got a reply that is the grade that is given without explanation.”
Thank you for your review, Jackie. We're sorry to see that you gave the course one star because of your grade. You scored 6.64% above the 75% needed to pass the course; below 75% is a fail. You scored below 75% on five of the 20 unit tests. As we explained to you in the two emails we sent you with regard to your ‘C’ grade, this is correct for the overall percentage you achieved. The letter grades are set fairly high as all tests are ‘open book’, i.e. you were able to refer to the course materials during the tests. We also sent you a link to a university website with more information about the grading of open book tests.
