“After reading the materials of course 120 , it can said that It is general material not specific to any country, which is its plus point. I would rather suggest, to include more material about Phonetics and phonology for Chinese chapter, because it been demanded at China. Over all the course contents are very informative, and opens the horizons of mind for teaching English Language.”
“TEFL refers to teaching English as a foreign language, TESOL refers to teaching English to Speakers of other languages.
Generally speaking, TESOL Certificate covers the learning content of TEFL certificate, and has the highest recognition and authority in the world. At present, domestic colleges and universities and slightly more professional English training centers will require TESOL Certificate to recruit foreign teachers, and TESOL Certificate is also a heavy weight for foreign teachers to apply for foreign expert certificate.
TEFL usually refers to teaching non-native English speaking students to learn English in non English speaking countries; TESOL usually refers to teaching English to non-native English speaking students who immigrate to English speaking countries.
More importantly, among the global English teaching positions, those requiring TEFL qualification are more likely to accept TESOL Certificate, and vice versa.
At present, TESOL and TEFL certificates have been mixed up in China. There is no strict difference between them. They are regarded as foreign teachers' qualification certificates. At present, domestic colleges and universities and slightly more professional English training centers will require TEFL certificate to recruit foreign teachers. At the same time, TEFL certificate of Shanghai education is also a heavy weight for foreign teachers to apply for foreign expert certificate.
I am very glad to learn the ITTT course that can give some useful advices and pratical skills .
It is very important for me that I use some methods which can give positive reaction with ESA tool from the 120-hr course in China.”
“The teaching course provided a good introduction to teaching English as a foreign language. It outlined all the important aspects of the English grammar and several helpful tips on how to approach lesson planning and classroom dynamics. Overall, it was a good start to my teaching career and I am glad I chose the course.”
“I was very excited and a little nervous when I signed on to take the 120 hours for TEFL certification without a tutor with ITTT, the course at times were challenging for me however and I feel this was the encouraging part, the way it’s set up online I found it very easy to navigate which is half the battle, you can download the course in its entirety so you have the material in your possession for references, helpful ideas and to refresh the information any time you want to. I applied myself and took the course seriously, It could be easier for others I’m sure but I didn’t want to miss an opportunity to discipline myself and get the grade I wanted even though you only need to pass 75% when it came to taking the units and the test designated for after you read the materials. There is a summative essay that counts as part of your passing after the last unit. I was a bit nervous at first but they give you around 140 different topics to choose from therefore that really felt like I had some control where I may do best at the topic of my choice.
My advice would be this course is as informative as it is challenging, I would recommend taking it with a tutor option if you can afford the extra cost and if you’ve been out of school practices for awhile like myself.
I’m very excited what the future bring, and I would be remiss not to mention how WONDERFUL Jon the representative who corresponded with me about my passing the course and also how I would receive the official certificate, he answered all my questions and replied in an efficient manner that showed he was paying attention, this is something that seems to be rare these days, all the more I appreciated him. I would recommend this course, be glad it’s a bit challenging otherwise I would feel less prepared and anxious moving forward, you’ll be proud of yours,Ed when you’re done and look forward like myself what the future holds, best wishes for all!”
