On this bracket any unwanted movement will be a result of the tension controlling the pivots not being set high enough.
It is factory set at a medium level but each pivot can be individually tightened and once done, it will hold correctly even on the largest TVs.

“I must admit to be wary of putting an 85" sony on a wall bracket. Installation was though easy and the bracket is structurally very sound. I am a bit worried though longer term as there is some movement in the tilt despite the levers being tight. Wary of over tightening also but I had hoped that the tilt aspect would be more solid.”

Tilt is controlled by the lever as you say, however on the opposite side to the lever, there is a secondary nut also controlling the tilt and if that is tightened, the lever tightener will then solidly hold an 85" TV with ease.
