“Controversial, positive discrimination is OK? It's OK to discriminate as it helps even out people in a work force, because of past mistakes made by others, their offspring is discriminated, two wrongs don't make a right. It's very hypocritical.”

Hi David Thanks for your feedback on the Equality and Diversity course, we always appreciate it. We agree, positive discrimination is not OK and It is illegal. Positive discrimination is a form of discrimination that favours someone by treating them differently in a positive way - for example, employing someone just because they come from an under-represented group, even though they are poorly qualified. Positive action is OK, and encouraged. Positive action refers to the things that organisations can lawfully do to encourage individuals from under-represented groups to apply for goods and services, or to participate in recruitment.
