“This is my second pair of Hylo RUNs. With my first pair, initially I found the amount of heel movement disconcerting. I then saw the instruction video on using the heel lock lacing method. This helped enough to make the shoes acceptable for me. I don’t run competitively, but I run regularly for exercise. 5km most days of the week.
The remaining issue I have with these shoes is that the “cuff”/ankle design makes them prone to collecting sand and small pebbles in them. Irritating when you run on dirt.
I’m hoping the next generation of RUNs will have a more snug fit around the heel and ankle. I think that would solve the issues I have with this shoe.
That said, even if they don’t, I’d still buy another pair on the basis of the efforts Hylo are making to reduce the environmental impact of running shoes. They still do their fundamental job of lowering the impact of running on hard surfaces.”
