“Have had several recorders over a number of years. Many seem to run hard drive randomly at nighttime. Something I regard as dangerous. So far this one has not shown that characteristic.”
“I bought this item to replace my old Humax Fox T2, which finally gave up the ghost after many years of excellent service. I tried to replace it with one of the latest Humax products but found them to be unnecessarily confusing to operate and the menus to be over complicated. Having searched the internet I decided to try to find something similar to my old Fox T2 and found the HDR 1800T its successor. Unfortunately, this had been discontinued so I decided to try a reconditioned item. Upon receipt of this item, I installed it with little difficulty and found that it was very similar to my previous T2. The problems that I had with it started with difficulty in downloading programmes from the correct transmitter leading to very poor reception, this was eventually solved with a manual rather than automatic download. The more serious problem was that the box refuses to come out of standby after being switched off without turning the power off and on again. After online discussions with your support team, this problem still persists after many attempts to solve it. The only way to operate the box satisfactorily is to keep it switched on all the time. I must admit to being disappointed with this purchase as would have expected a factory-reconditioned item from Humax to be better than this. Despite this when working properly the box is very good and I have decided to keep it until something better comes along.”
“Works well once set up. The recorder I bought seems to need to be left on standby otherwise it seems to lose its memory of the channel tunings. It also seems to lack the facility to choose which is the preferred version of a channel easily and to replace the original version of the channel in the channel list.
It will record 2 programmes at the same time.”
