Humax Aura 4K Android TV Recorder - 2TB Reviews

4 Rating 187 Reviews
HUMAX have released this box without fully testing it as it has loads of bugs and missing features. It should not have been released until it was fully functional. DLNA does not work. Does not recognise external SSD. Once they have introduced all the fixes then it is a good box, but not at the moment.

This product has the potential to be amazing but as its new there are currently teething problems. The tuning quality is poor not picking up HD channels. It frequently freezes and needs resetting via a restart. There are compatibility issue with Netflix and Nowtv which will not work even though it Android. When storing recordings there is no way of creating folders as you could with older humax product. This means all your 2tb of recordings will be in a very long list. Finally the App is not available to download. As said at the start this has the potential but ita not their yet.

Excellent features and quite user friendly, but has some problems with picture and sound freezing -- supposedly due to signal strength being too high, but even reducing it only gives a partial cure. I just hope that future software updates can give smoother running.

There are a number of things I think need refining. After fast forward sometimes the sound is muted and I have to turn up the volume. In addition the fast forward send to ramp up shower than the BT You view T4000. Still not having Netflix App compatibility is a pain. The documentation indicates there is are jump forward and backward buttons but they do not exist on the remote. The guidelines for using the remote to control your TV are lacking in detail and effectiveness. I had to refer to a different model to get the necessary information. Overall this model still needs work to be complete. Having said that, the screen is good, volume better than t4000.

I was disappointed that there was NO access to Netflix from this recorder. It was the latest from Humax, but seems you have had a disagreement with Netflix. In the end I put it down as a bad experience and put it aside and purchased another Humax box. An earlier version that DID have a direct link to Netflix. AND THAT ONE WORKS PERFECTLY.

Very happy with purchase apart from a few WIFI problems. Sometimes it it will not connect despite other WIFI items staying connected. Also, the remote could be more responsive.

The Aura does all that it supposed to do but does not do it well. Problems are to name just a few :- Recordings fail with message “Recording failed due to lack of power” Catchup players sometimes require a restart before they work. Sometimes recordings have 2 copies of same program. Digital Audio has to be set to Stereo (not surround) to get surround sound on live TV. No Surround sound on Catchup TV. When watching a program that is being recorded if you exit to watch something else when you go back into program while it is still recording it goes back to the start. When watching live TV screen goes blank all recordings stop and device has to be restarted to get picture back Still no Aura Android App that was promised soon.
