Humax Aura 4K Android TV Recorder - 2TB Reviews

4 Rating 187 Reviews
Upgraded from Humax DTR-T1000 and am so pleased with our new purchase. Installation was very straightforward the new box was up and running in no time at all. The User Interface is extremely smooth and responsive. The Android Aura app is extremely useful and is a great extension of the product. Coming up to four weeks using the Humax Aura 4K and it has performed flawlessly. Highly recommended.

A stylish Humax TV recorder (compact with a slim gloss-black case, clear on/off illumination & a quality remote controller) that is straightforward & intuitive to unpack/connect/set up & use. Crisp, bright & clear 4k pictures on-screen that are easy to record/play back even with modest home wifi speeds. Fast response to all handset functionality. Highly recommended.

Im very happy with this product which very nearly meets all my needs. My smart TV does not allow ITV or Chanel 4 apps but this device does, however, it does not provide Netflix & instead offers Amazon Prime . This is why I’ve given 4 stars rather than 5. I particularly like the thumbnail view when fast forward or rewinding do that you can pin point where to stop. Finally, I’m able to record - and from multiple channels at a time! I remember buying my first video recorder in the mid late 80’s, we’ve come so far, video to DVD, then 3D & Blue Ray, the internet with access to on demand/streaming. It’s incredible progression. This box has brought back to me lots of features I lost when leaving sky & the use of my previous 1TB boxes and do I’m very happy (except having to use different service for Netflix) .

I find that there are some parts that are not as good as my old humax the main one being the text on the programme information is to small and there is no zoom to enlarge this my eye sight is not bad and any one with poor eye sight will never be able to read it also the sound quality is not so good with no control to improve it

Bought direct from Humax to replace a Sky Q 1TB box. Was delivered the following day. This is a very sophisticated bit of kit, and I will not be using all of the features. It was relatively easy to set up with a Samsung TV running Tyzen. (The Humax runs on Android). It requires quite a strong signal to function at its best, and I had to get a signal amplifier which cost very little. The remote can be set to operate the Humax and the TV and using it is very easy. The picture quality is superb and one can record 4 programmes simultaneously whist watching a fifth live. But the outstanding feature of this purchase is the service from Humax. I had cause to contact them with an operational query, and on another occasion regarding my signal strength. Humax responded immediately and were most helpful. I would recommend this recorder without hesitation

Only had the box a few weeks to replace a Sky Q box which we found were paying way too much for, for the content we watched. So far so good. The Android TV interface takes some getting used and some of the apps seem a little sluggish at times, but the Humax Aura sets out what it's meant to do with confidence. I'd like to see some improvement to the Aura mobile phone app though as it doesn't really live up to what we experienced with something like Sky Go.

This was a replacement for a Humax box I have had for ages and has served me well and worked in the way I wanted and never let me down. This new one is smaller and is Ok to set up, even though I did print off the manual to get a more comprehensive instruction list. It runs Android and ties in with my house which runs mostly Google devices. ITY has restarted a few times without warning and reloads Android. But it is doing what I want and gives me a lot more options than my older box.
