“The home menu screen takes too long , & sometimes it doesn't appear at all! And no Netflix button or app let's it down. Apart from these problems Humax 4K is fantastic I would recommend it over other android boxes.”
“Works OK from new, but my previous version has ground almost to a very irritating halt, suggesting some structural software weaknesses, probably in the filing system. (I only bought this because the old one was so annoying). The main improvement is the LEDs show if it is ON or OFF.
I find the user-interface unfriendly and tiresome, and the remote control difficult to work in low background light - it would benefit from Baille-like structure on some keys. The layout is different from the previous one for no apparent reason and not an improvement. I now have five remotes :-(”
“Really like the upgrade from our older Humax FVP-5000T. More storage space and higher output resolution together with intuitive controls. Unfortunately it has a major drawback that our old unit never suffered with, namely the brief black screen and no sound during both live TV and playback. Changed over to a new high quality HDMI lead but problem is still there. It is not on the recording though as a rewind and replay the blank screen and audio is not there. Research shows it is a common issue. Box full reset done but no improvement. Please fix this issue Humax and it will get more stars.”
“Does the basics quite well and the ability to record four programmes at once is a bonus. However, it still has a few foibles which need sorting out which occasionally require a reset of the box.”
“Picture breakup pixalation on some channels. Other Humax boxes and TVs I have Ok.Thought I could solve it cable wise but getting nowhere.Might try to exchange after Xmas. Other than that it would be 5 stars”
“slow to bring up programme onscreen.Never sure best way to control viewing whether via HDMI slot or via handset?
Needs to be simpler operation for those not so technically minded.
